Doom's Day is coming along, but what was supposed to be a heavy writing summer has gotten bogged down by more work than normal. Also, the pandemic was quite useful in getting OOA:ITN out the door. Locked in his house with streaming shows running dry, T-A-G had no excuse for not writing.

Not yet. Book IV, Doom's Day will be next to avoid a reader mutiny. Then ITW, before book 5, because those two are already contracted to Tantor so I have to finish them before trying to get them to commit to more.

Doom's Day's sort of biggest delay is me trying to unravel then reravel all the plot lines and where they are going and intersect, combined with concentrated writing time. With complicated plot intertwining, it takes a bit more time to write than a singular plot line like ITN, because you are balancing a whole bunch of stories at once. Therefore, a dedicated hour or two per day doesn't get you as far as it would in a single plotline story.

So, by the logic, I could get COA:ITW out sooner, but then again, I'd have a mutiny/insurrection to deal with.
